Homework Helpers

Is your child just done with school by the time they get home? Is it a struggle to get them to complete simple homework tasks? If the answer is yes, then Homework Helpers can help!

Most students will work for teachers! We are offering after-school homework time two days a week on Tuesdays and Thursdays.

   How does it work?

  • Students will go out for dismissal with the carline, but will wait by the benches. After the car line is complete, students will come back into Mrs. Baehl's classroom by 2:30 p.m., but likely before.
  • Students will work to complete their daily homework and study for upcoming tests. If students finish early, they can read or practice math facts.
  • Mrs. Baehl and Mrs. Humm will help to keep students focused on their work, answer questions, read directions, check assignment notebooks, and quiz small groups on upcoming tests. We will not grade completed work for correctness, but will look over it to make sure the quality of work is up to standard.
  • Students may bring a snack and water bottle.
  • Students will dismiss out the front doors for car pick up or can be sent down to after-school care at 3:15 p.m. Students who are not picked up by 3:25 p.m. will be charged an additional $10 fee.
  • Cost is $10 per day per student. You can pay weekly or monthly at the beginning of each week/month. Cash is preferred. If sending money with your child or to the office, please write Homework Helpers and child's name on the envelope.
  • Homework Helpers is geared toward students in 2nd-8th grade, but all students are welcome.
  • Questions? Email Mrs. Humm at bhumm@evdio.org or Mrs. Baehl at jbaehl@evdio.org.
