Mrs. Munselle
Mrs. Munselle is a resource teacher in our new Exceptional Learners program at Resurrection. She provides push-in support alongside classroom teachers, pull-out instruction for small groups and one-on-one learning, and targeted interventions when students need additional support.
Mrs. Munselle was a special education teacher at Central High School from 1994-2001, when she quit to stay home with her two children. She joined the Resurrection staff in 2011, once her children were older.
"I had many wonderful and caring teachers myself and wanted to make that same difference for other children, so I became a teacher," Mrs. Munselle said.
She added that Resurrection is a special place to work.
"Resurrection is a close-knit community," Mrs. Munselle said. "My coworkers are like family to me. Most of our Resurrection families are involved in their children's educations and volunteer their time to make our school stand out. My favorite part of teaching at Resurrection is the family atmosphere. We all take care of each other, both during and outside of the school day."
Outside of school, Mrs. Munselle enjoys spending time with her family and her puppies. She also loves traveling, doing yard work, and spending time outside when the weather is nice.
She is married to her husband, Jerry, and they have six kids: Shelby & Shane Chancellor and Jace, Bryce, Ethyn, and Jordyn Munselle.
Mrs. Schmitt
Mrs. Schmitt is a resource teacher in our new Exceptional Learners Program at Resurrection. She provides push-in support alongside classroom teachers, pull-out instruction for small groups and one-on-one learning, and targeted interventions when students need additional support.
She began her 18th year in education in 2026 and her 10th year at Resurrection. She was a kindergarten and 1st grade teacher here before joining the Exceptional Learners program in 2025. Prior to joining the Resurrection staff, Mrs. Schmitt taught special education for four years and kindergarten for four years in the public school system.
Mrs. Schmitt has wanted to be a teacher since she, herself, was in 1st grade. She used to play teacher with her sisters and never changed her mind about her career choice.
"Teaching children how to read and grow in their faith is my favorite part about teaching at Resurrection," Mrs. Schmitt said. "I love the atmosphere here and the feeling of being part of a school family."
Outside of school, Mrs. Schmitt loves watching sports, especially when her sons are playing. Basketball is her favorite sport and she even coaches a Special Olympics basketball team.
Mrs. Schmitt is married to her husband, Jonathan, and they have twin sons, Dax and Dean.
Mrs. Rees
Mrs. Rees moved into a new role in 2026 as a Resource Assistant in our new Exceptional Learners program. She is very excited for the opportunity to work more closely with our exceptional learners and has shared that she feels a true calling to support students in this way.
Prior to this role, she taught 2nd grade at Resurrection. She has been teaching for 20 years and loves that she is able to work at her home parish. She has been a member of Resurrection her whole life and graduated from Resurrection School!
Mrs. Rees loves the family-like atmosphere at Resurrection and that she works with people who have wonderful morals and values.
Outside of school, Mrs. Rees loves being a mom and wife. She also enjoys making candles for her small business, This Little Light.
She is married to her husband Wesley and has three kids: Nolan, Brayden, and Faith and three step-kids: Brady, Kamryn, and Jasmyn.
Mrs. Humm
In 2026, Mrs. Humm helped us launch our Exceptional Learners program as our new High Ability Math Teacher. She provides small-group, advanced math instruction designed to challenge and extend learning. She previously taught 5th grade Math, Science, and Religion at Resurrection. In 2024, she began her fourth year at Resurrection, but her 22nd year as a teacher and her 10th year in the Diocese of Evansville. Prior to coming here, she taught high ability math at St. John the Baptist School.
"I have always enjoyed working with kids and helping them understand new things," Mrs. Humm said. "Math, science, and religion all connect directly to the real world, and helping kids find those connections is so rewarding."
Mrs. Humm has enjoyed starting the Math Olympiad club for 4th-6th graders and being part of the House Aquinas and House Council.
"I also love attending Mass together as a school," Mrs. Humm added. "There is certainly something very special about more than 300 students singing together and praising God."
